Warranties

D&D Electric Bikes – Warranty Terms

These terms apply to new D&D electric bicycles purchased from D&D Electric Bikes. They sit alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and do not replace them.

1. Who is covered
This warranty is given to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable unless we agree in writing. You must keep proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation) and the bicycle’s serial/frame number.

2. Warranty periods
Subject to the conditions below, we warrant the bicycle against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery as follows:

| Item | Cover |
| --- | --- |
| Aluminium frame | 2 years |
| Motor, controller and display | 2 years |
| Battery | 2 years |
| Original charger and electrical wiring supplied with the bike | 2 years |
| Other original components (fork, stem, bars, headset, seat post, brakes, lights, bottom bracket, hubs, rims as fitted) | 1 year |

A replacement part carries the balance of the original period for that part, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

3. Battery
The battery is covered for defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years. Gradual capacity loss through normal use is expected and is not a defect. We may treat a battery as defective if, when tested by us using the original charger and following the user instructions, it no longer holds a reasonable charge for a commuter bicycle of this type. Cover does not apply if the battery has been stored flat, left in extreme heat or cold, charged with a non-approved charger, opened, modified, or physically damaged.

4. What we will do
If a covered defect is confirmed within the relevant period, we will, at our option, repair or replace the defective part with a new or refurbished equivalent. We do not offer cash refunds under this warranty except where the law requires it.

5. What is not covered
This warranty does not cover:

- Normal wear and tear, including tyres, inner tubes, brake pads and rotors, cables, chain, cassette/freewheel, grips, saddle wear, spokes and bearings
- Accident, crash, impact, theft, vandalism or neglect
- Misuse, stunt riding, off-road use beyond the bicycle’s intended urban/commuter purpose, overloading, or continued use after a fault is apparent
- Water ingress from pressure washing, submersion, or inadequate care in wet conditions
- Modifications, non-original parts, incorrect assembly after delivery, or work by anyone other than us or a technician we approve
- Commercial hire, courier or delivery use unless we agreed that use in writing at sale
- Cosmetic issues that do not affect function
- Consumables and accessories not listed as covered
- Labour, collection or return carriage unless we agree otherwise in writing

6. Your responsibilities
You must follow the user manual for charging, storage, tyre pressures and routine checks. Keep the bicycle reasonably maintained. Report a suspected defect promptly and stop riding if it is unsafe to continue.

7. How to claim
Contact us before sending anything back. Provide:

- Your name, order number and proof of purchase
- Frame/serial number
- A clear description of the fault, with photos or video where possible

We may ask you to carry out simple checks. If we need the bicycle or a part returned for assessment, send it to:

D&D Electric Bikes
Unit 14a Moorland Gate Business Park
Cowling Road
Chorley
Lancashire
PR6 9FE

Unless we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the cost and risk of sending the bicycle or part to us. Do not return the bicycle without our confirmation. Unauthorised returns may be refused.

8. Assessment
Cover is only confirmed after we have inspected the bicycle or part. If the fault is not covered, we will tell you the cost of any repair or return before work proceeds.

9. Statutory rights
If the bicycle is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you still have rights under UK consumer law, including during the first 30 days and beyond. This warranty is extra commercial cover and does not limit those rights.

10. Contact
For warranty queries, contact D&D Electric Bikes using the details on your invoice or our website before arranging a return.
